Built by someone who's stood on the course, not just in a boardroom.

GroundsLedger didn't come from a product roadmap. It came from a conversation.

John has spent more than 20 years working at the intersection of academia and golf course management — as a turfgrass scientist and educator, and for years alongside the superintendents actually running maintenance departments day to day. Turfpath LLC, the company behind GroundsLedger, grew directly out of that time in the industry.

GroundsLedger started with a conversation, not a business plan — one John tells in his own words below.

I've spent my career around golf course maintenance — first as a researcher and educator, and more recently building software alongside the people who actually run these operations.

GroundsLedger exists because of that round of golf, not a spreadsheet. A superintendent I was playing with told me about his week — invoices piling up, GL codes he had to remember, a budget he was rebuilding by hand just to stay ahead of the next board meeting. None of it was the job he signed up for.

I wanted to see if AI could actually take that off his plate — not as a gimmick, but as real time back on the course. That's still the only goal. If you have questions about how it works or whether it fits your operation, I'd genuinely like to hear from you.
